Father and Son
Brown Church Development Group traces its history back to 1962 when Jim Brown founded Jim Brown Construction, Inc. in Holdrege, NE. As a general contractor, Jim and his staff constructed a wide array of structures over the next twenty years. Indeed, the company soon enjoyed a lasting reputation for quality work, solid reliability and unmatched integrity. It was during this time that Jim’s only son, Todd, joined the family business after school and during breaks. Following high school, Todd attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where he played football and studied Engineering/Construction Management. In 1988, Todd returned to Holdrege to join the familyconstruction business full-time. |

Call to Ministry
After completing a dozen churches between 1980 and 1995, Todd felt led to the ministry of building churches exclusively. Refocusing the business to address the needs of growing evangelical churches led to several innovations. In 1996, Design Associates, Inc. was created to employ the often touted design/build process, whereby one organization both designs and constructs a proposed facility. Most recently, in 2000, the company added a consulting division and began offering an integrated system of consulting, architecture and construction that allows ministry to dictate the design. |

Applying a Belief System to the Process
Today, Todd Brown is President and CEO of Brown Church Development Group. The company continues to apply a belief system to the process of building churches. In fact, it has flourished as an unparalleled faith-based church developer, using an integrated consult/design/build process to keep ministry at the center and produce high quality structures on budget and on time. Brown Church Development Group operates between the Rocky Mountains and the Great Lakes regions. In January 2000, a regional office opened in Algonquin, IL; and in January 2007, corporate headquarters relocated to Kearney, NE. With a growing staff of nearly 40 employees. |
